The Hundreds

I recently fell in love with pilates. I'm not motivated to go to the gym, so if there's an exercise I look forward to, I'm going. If I'm lucky, my dear friend Liz will be on the reformer next to me, the two of us sweating together doing the hundreds, a crunch held with 100 continuous arm pulses. Liz's Mom has passed away, and her Dad is in a memory care facility. Liz visits her Dad each week, and I admire how much she cares for him.

Our class is small with only 12 people. Throughout most of the class we are laying on our backs. I always see spirits in my classes since my eyes are sometimes closed and I'm doing breathing that is similar to that I do when I channel. It can be a challenge to stay focused on what my instructor is telling me to do!

During a recent cardio sculpt class, I saw a beautiful woman wearing glasses sitting next to Liz. Since I don't know who she is, I ask her "tell me about you?" I begin to receive her messages between ab crunches and stretches. Once I'm locked in with a spirit, it can be hard to break the link before I download a message. The woman blows kisses and points to Liz. She then holds up a deck of cards, and shows me the ace of hearts, the heart standing out. Next she is reading a book, so I ask "which book?" I am not shown the title, but a page, and the page zooms in to the number, 201. I always see numbers in readings; these usually signify an important date, like a birthday. 201 for me is February 1. I repeat the number 201 to myself so I don't forget it, and have to look at Liz to see what exercise we are doing now since I've not been paying attention.

After class, Liz and I go for coffee. I tell her about the woman who visited her in class. Liz confirms she and her mom loved to play card games. I tell Liz her mom sent her the ace of hearts, which is a metaphor for "I love you!" The date February 1 is not significant with anyone in Liz's family, but I do remember to tell Liz I saw the numbers 201.

The next day, during a class, my apple watch shows several texts from Liz. I'm anxious to read her messages, but have to wait until the end of class. The first word from Liz is "OMG. I know why my mom showed you page 201. It's the number of my dad's apartment in memory care. They literally announce my visit every time as a visitor for resident in 201."

Liz's mom knew she only had a minute to get a message through, and she chose this one. It means, "I see you Liz, I see you visiting your dad, and I'm with you both, and I love you both." Liz told me she was relieved and fulfilled to know her mom is with them. I am so grateful for Liz and her friendship and this small, yet big, beautiful message from her mom.
