Spirit Signs

Have you ever had ladybugs land on you, or butterflies dance around you? Your cell phone starts playing a song?

Our loved ones want us to know they are still with us, and they love to send us signs to light up our days.

I was out for lunch with friends and a dragonfly came to our table and buzzed each one of them until it settled on my Parkland bracelets. We were all in awe, mouths dropping open. I said “you need to stay there until I get a photo!” It didn’t move until I had captured 3 photos.

One of my favorite moments that may happen in a reading is when a spirit shows specific symbols their loved ones can look for to know they are with them at that moment. Often they will open their hands and blow butterflies towards me.

Butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs, and birds that visit us are all beautiful validation that your loved one is saying “hello, I love you!” They can also make lights flicker, and mess with our electronics, our cell phones. Sometimes it can be a sign agreed on and discussed before a loved one’s passing. I had a client who asked her Dad before his passing to validate his presence with Matzo ball soup. In her reading, a huge pot of matzo ball soup was shown to us, to our delight!

My sister Diane sees the numbers 119 all the time. It can be 1:19 on a clock, $11.19 on a bill, or in an address. Our Dad’s truck number was 119 and so this is his way of showing her he is with her. She delights in these daily confirmations.

Spirits also love to leave you feathers (even indoors) and some even leave coins.

We can also ask spirit to give us a sign, keeping our expectations of what we think it may be aside, and just being open. A few months ago, I tried this. I asked “spirit” for a sign. Later that day, I walked into my backyard, and staring at me was my favorite bird, a pink roseate spoonbill. This beautiful bird had not been in our backyard wetland for 2 years. Pink is also my favorite color. I was full of gratitude in that moment. The spoonbill stayed in our wetland for months!

The best advice I can give to you is to just be open to the magic.

How wonderful it is to have our loved ones send us a hello!
